Welcome to World History

This is my/your/our blog. We will use it throughout the fall and hopefully in the winter and spring as well to post things of interest, have online discussions, and generally enhance the World History experience. The only real rule of this blog is that you be respectful of everyone and their ideas; if you stick to that simple rule, trouble will not find you.

Remember that not only will your classmates and I be reading what you write regularly, but it is also available to anyone in the world who has an internet connection.

So your first blog assignment is to use the comment section below to tell the class about one thing that you accomplished this summer. I like to think I accomplished quite a bit this summer, but the one thing that sticks out is that I learned how to use a chainsaw and took down a bunch of trees on our property ... good times. Looking forward to hearing what you all accomplished!

  4. This summer I went to Lake George, New York, and had an awesome time. I went tubing on a river but I started freaking out because the water got really deep and murky. There were a bunch of totally submerged fallen trees whose branches came 3 feet away from the surface of the water. Thus explaining why I freaked out.

  6. This summer I went to many sport camps. At football camp I won the top player award. My team was the district runner-up in baseball; and the team that beat us went on to take second in the state. They ended up with only two losses, and one loss was the game I pitched. This was the best summer ever!!

  7. This summer I went to Phillips Andover for Summer Session. I took Geometry and Latin as my classes and Social Dance for afternoon activity. It was fun and the food there was great. There were many trips to the mall, beach, water parks, etc. and many events like a dance every saturday night and movies or talent shows. I also made lots of friends that I still keep in contact with. I'd definitely go again if I get the opportunity to do so...

  10. This summer I went to sleepaway camp for my fourth consecutive year, and I accomplished many things during my seven weeks in Smithfield, Maine. I took ceramics almost every day, and started out making tilted pottery, but by the end of the summer I began to use the wheel. And to my surprise, I was awarded the Senior Ceramics Award! Overall, this summer was awesome!
