Christo and Jeanne-Claude Visit

Here is a link to Christo and Jeanne-Claude's website. If you have a few minutes this weekend, take a look at some of their work, or at the Frequently Asked Questions about their work.

Of course, you can always just search Google Images for more pics of them and their work. If you do take the time this weekend, please post a comment here about what your impressions of their work: How did you react to seeing their work for the first time? Was there one work that you liked best? Least? Why?

As usual, there are no right answers, and this comment is not required. But the more familiar you are with their work, the more you will get out of their visit on Tuesday night.

I think this art work is extremely impressive, the scale that they work with is almost mind blowing. It takes a lot of time and patience. Im looking forward to what they have to say to us.

  3. I love what Christo and Jeanne-Claude do! I kinda want to be an architect when Im older, so I am very intrigued by what they do and the thought and written process that goes into it. I also love how they are able to turn little thoughts into huge pieces of artwork/architecture. To do so many larger than life pieces of art is a huge achievement, that I would hopefully like to do one day, but at a smaller scale!
I personally love the "Surrounded Islands" the most! Just the whole concept of surrounding islands in pink material is fasinating! and it looks amazing from an eagle eye view!

Can't wait tomorrow to take learn about their dedicated lives as architects and artists!

  4. I am really impressed by their work because most of their art work requires a lot of hard work with these gigantic fabrics. My favorite one is the Wrapped Reichstag. Just because i think they must payed a lot of work to wrap that building.
